“It is the potential for multiple
alternatives and variations that so captivates me in printmaking.
Once I have created the plate I can try numerous inking variations
and papers to change the look, the mood even the time of day
by how the plate is inked.”
I modify pattern and shape to enhance
and explore my subject. I love experimenting with diffused
light and deeply shadowed forms to create spatial drama, mystery
and visual rhythm in my work.
My goal is to continue to grow as an
artist, to fully explore each idea and image as I utilize
the flexibility and versatility inherent in the intaglio medium."
