What’s New::
The past year has been busy and challenging. I’ve been working in the 17th century mezzotint technique. I begin by texturizing a copper plate using a curved serrated tool called a rocker. After many passes with the rocker in at least 24 different directions, the plate is ready and I begin to scrap and polish my image into the copper. Very labor intensive – and still so much to learn and try.
Was thrilled to have won the Jean Fain Award in Printmaking in the Providence Art Club Fall Members’ Exhibition 2025 (Aug. 24 – Sept. 11) for my mezzotint Rhapsody in White. The juror was Nina Mollo, associate director of the Copley Society in Boston, MA.
